Where service comes easy
Roy Bamber started our family business as a 14-year-old lad, back in 1946.
On one of those far off days he came across a treadle sewing machine perched atop a Salford bomb site.He scrambled up the rubble, dragged the machine down and wheeled it home on a hired hand cart.
He taught himself how to repair the machine and then later sold it to a neighbour.
After completing his National Service, he set about building a family and a sewing machine business. We still try to follow Dads old fashioned example of good and honest service.
Alan & Steve Bamber

Time goes by
75 years on and the Bamber Boys are still repairing and selling sewing machines. Brothers Alan and Steve run the business with their team of skilled, dedicated staff.
The large shop in Eccles, Salford now houses a huge range of sewing machines across the Bernina, Brother and Janome ranges plus Bernette, Juki and Babylock too.
The upstairs haby features two fabric rooms and a wide range of accessories and extras for every machine.
The Team

Alan
I try to match the best choice of sewing machine to your personal requirements. I’m very proud of the business we have all helped to build.

Maggie
If Maggie ruled the world, there would be peace and love everywhere. Everyone would sew and quilt and we’d all be home in time for tea – our rock.

Steve
‘Our kid’ mans every pump -admin, sales floor, workshop and all in-between. The best brother, he even makes the teacakes on our Wednesday trips

Jenny
Where would we be without Jenny. When the orders pour in and the phone never stops, Jenny keeps cool and gets the job done. Thanks, Jen.

Shahid
Shahid is our workshop manager and technician. He’s been with us forever and has serviced & repaired thousands of your machines – Top Man.

We’re here to
help you.
As a family business we care about our customers and always try our best to offer an excellent service.
