Here is the Janome CM7 needle plate. It fits the mighty Janome Continental M7. Now, generally speaking, the M7 owner is likely to use their machine a lot. It isn’t exactly a machine bought on a whim. It is bought for serious and heavy duty use. So it stands to reason the needle plate is going to take prolonged and heavy assault. Quilting, bag-making, alterations and all guns blazing.
All this use will take its toll on the needle plate. Bent needles will chip, chip away at the edges of the needle hole. They can be smoothed away – something we do with many needle plates when the machines come in for service. However, like the tooth that is never fixed. Eventually there will be trouble and the needle plate will have to be replaced.
