If you’re planning to visit Bamber Sewing Machines, here’s some information you might find useful.
Getting to Us
Our postcode is M30 7HY. Your sat nav or Apple CarPlay should bring you straight to our door.
We are approximately 400 yards from Junction 11 of the M60 motorway. For reference, the main Trafford Centre exit is Junction 10.
When you leave the motorway, follow the signs for Eccles, not Irlam. You will come to a set of traffic lights with a large ASDA supermarket on your left. If you look ahead and to your right, you should see our shop with its blue and white signs.
Parking
We have a small customer car park at the rear of the building.
Turn into Clifford Street, the road between our shop and the large red-brick pub. You will see a set of large gates on your right-hand side. Turn through the gates into the alleyway and you will see the sign for our car park.
If you have brought a sewing machine in for service or repair, please ring the doorbell on the door inside the conservatory. One of us will come out and carry the machine in for you.
Please don’t struggle on your own.
Some customers choose to use the ASDA car park nearby. On Saturdays, our own car park can become full when we have a sewing class taking place.
Wheelchair Access
We have a folding wheelchair ramp for our front entrance, which works well for wheelchair access.
Unfortunately, wheelchair access through the rear entrance isn’t possible. The conservatory doorway is too narrow and there are two steps where our ramp cannot be used safely.
Inside the Shop
Our shop is arranged over two floors.
On the ground floor you’ll find our showroom, where our sewing machines, embroidery machines, overlockers and sewing cabinets are on display and ready for you to see and try. Our service and repair workshop is also on the ground floor.
On the first floor we have our haberdashery, fabrics, accessories and sewing classroom. There are two flights of wide stairs between the floors.
Unfortunately, we do not have a lift between the ground and first floors.
